the fam.
two lovebirds traveling on their merry way through life and across the world. one from virginia, one from wisconsin, both happy to be alaskan. they crossed paths in washington, splashing around in (the) white salmon, and the rest is history. now they spend their time sleeping the woods, paddling when the seasons allow, growing and preserving their meals to come, and reeling in a fish here and there.
then there were five. the beasts formed a motley trio of their own, always up for adventure, plotting their next rebellious act, and truly happy to be along for the ride.
jake.
the man of the house, so it would seem. energized by the wind and water and the air he breathes, this one never stops exploring (or moving). always focused on improving efficiency, optimizing his practicality, and motivating himself and those around him. pragmatic, in a word. truly the first one to the top of any hill, he’s a little like a billy goat. known to pull out stellar dance moves at a moment’s notice and is currently working on baking the best buns and sewing practical pieces for outdoor adventures.

the glue that binds them. deeply devoted to the crew, loves to wander off into the forest, and (almost) always catches the biggest fish. tacos and champagne bring real joy, but not as much as the beauty of her alaskan home. loves to be dazzled by nature. flowing water soothes her and mountain peaks fill her soul, even if it takes awhile to climb them. she has a love of all creatures great and small, and a connection to the earth she walks on rooted in a childhood spent amongst the trees. plants are life.

the velcro dog. the angel child. the rescue that saved us all. the take anywhere dog we all hope we’re lucky enough to deserve someday. never complains, always listens, loves like a floozy and smiles her biggest in a snowstorm. she spends most of her days panting, but also enjoys sunbathing. apple lover. tripod. cancer survivor.

the naughty child. loves life like there’s no tomorrow. no regrets. deeply devoted to those around him. certified search and rescue trailing dog. can sniff out a lost person but it’s possible he prefers to sniff out lost snacks. decided he will never truly retire, yet spends most of his time goofing off. food is life.
porkchop.
the adventure pug. somehow, ruler of the roost. has outlived many of his counterparts and may very well outlive us all. enjoys sunshine, heated floors, naps, and being carried up and down stairs. really hates rain. enjoys wrestling with dogs much larger than he. can’t hear anything except the refrigerator door.
